Vivek Bohra of Dazzlr in tie-up talks with top-line Chinese producers & international casting agencies at Berlinale 2017
With the grand success of Chinese films with Indian connections in Mainland China, the Chinese filmmakers are looking to locate and shoot more Chinese films in India with Indian cast and crew. Indian films have also begun to find favour with Chinese audiences.
These were the views expressed by Jerry Ye Ning, the CEO of Huayi Brothers, the leading Chinese Film studio. Ye Ning was awarded the Best Producer at the Asian Brilliant Stars Awards held at Berlin during the ongoing Berlinale and the European Film Market (EFM). Ye is best known for his association with commercial Chinese films such as MOJIN: THE LOST LEGEND and THE TAKING OF TIGER MOUNTAIN, and won the award for THE WASTED TIMES. Ye is one of the most sought after Chinese Film Executives in the world.
Ye was talking to Vivek Bohra, the co-founder of Dazzlr, the highly successful Indian casting agency associated with blockbuster films and leading Bollywood production houses. He is grandson of Shree Ram Bohra and has started Dazzlr with Bollywood’s leading casting director Aadore Mukherjee as his co-founder. He is attending the European Film Market (EFM) and looking forward to international tie-ups to expand his business venture and make it global. He has had very productive meetings with leading Chinese, European, African, and American casting agencies and production houses.
Vivek also met Xu Haofeng the winner of Asian Brightest Stars best director award. He was the co-screenwriter on Wong Kar-Wai’s THE GRANDMASTER, and has directed the highly successful Kung Fu film THE MASTER that brought him the award.
